Mid July Manicure| Kiss Nail Polish in Summer Rain

Here is my Mid July Manicure look using two shades one from Milani and one from Kiss.

I am wearing Kiss Summer Rain on my ring finger and Milani Rainbow Prism. I am wearing Kiss Full Cover Short Square Nails and I just adhered them using a nail glue found at the Dollar Tree.

The shade Summer Rain applied pretty sheer in the first coat. The second coat allowed me to come to the pigmentation you see pictured on my nails. You can't tell in the photo but Rainbow Prism is a holographic chunky glitter polish. I am also wearing the Salon Perfect Plumping Gel Gel Effect Top Coat over each nail. Overall I am quite happy with this blue and it works with my summer tan.

Fourth of July Nail Art

Here's how I did my nails for the Fourth of July this year! This is super quick and simple and only uses three polishes plus a top coat. All I did was alternate the colors on my fingers, making sure that both middle fingers were the silver holo glitter.

RED - Essie - Shade ??? (I let my mom borrow it to paint her nails so I'll have to update with the shade later)

  • I think this is the most flattering red for my skin tone. This is more of a brick red.

WHITE - Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquer in Rainbow Prisms

  • This polish is a beautiful holo chunky silver. I like this formula because the base dries down quick making the two coat application fast.

BLUE - ORLY Lacquer in High on Hope

  • This blue has gorgeous small copper shimmer in it that gives added dimension and shine to the polish. This needs two coats as the first one is quite sheer. I forgot I had this polish but I'm glad I found it for this mani.

Anyone do any fun nail art for the Fourth of July?

Makeup Declutter Part 1/3

I've moved around some of my makeup drawers lately and I've found a lot of products that are too old, don't work well, or are no longer products I would use.

I am doing a declutter in three parts. Here is what I'm getting rid of part 1:

  1. KleanColor VIBE rant Duo Eyeliner in Yellow-Vibe
    • I am getting rid of this because both ends (stick and liquid) do not have enough pigmentation to show up on my lids. The liquid also dries to a crunchy flaky mess that I don't want on my eyes.
  2. PUR Mineral Glow
    • Actually really loved this product. This is more like a bronzer with some shimmer. I am getting rid of this because it's over 5 years old.
  3. Revlon Transforming Effects Nail Polish in 785 Matte Pearl Glaze
    • In the bottle this looks like a really cool shade that could transform other colors. In actuality this really does nothing and shows up as a cheap purple shade.
  4. L.A. Colors Color Last Nail Polish in CNP5 Love
    • I wanted to love this shade. I have been on the hunt for a good cheap baby pink for my nails but this product for HORRIBLE. This formula from L.A. Colors works as a two step non-led/uv curing gel finish. I have used one other shade with the top coat from this line and LOVED the application, shade, wear time, etc. However, I could not get this shade to even dry. I waited the longest amounts of time before attempting to do a second coat on this extremely sheer formula and my nails just looked like goop. No matter what  I did my nails would not dry down. I don't think all shades are horrible but I'd be weary about picking up this shade.

What products are you getting rid of and why?

Kiss Gel Strong Sky Violet & Mint Sky Nail Swatches

Here are nail swatches from some of the Kiss Gel Strong nail polishes I just picked up from the Dollar Tree.

I am wearing both Sky Violet & Mint Sky on my nails. I am wearing Kiss Full Cover Short Square Nails and I just adhered them using a nail glue found at the Dollar Tree.

Both shades applied pretty sheer in the first coat. The second coat allowed me to come to the pigmentation you see pictured on my nails. I am also wearing the Salon Perfect Plumping Gel Gel Effect Top Coat over each nail. Overall I am quite happy with both these shades.

Dollar Tree Nail Haul 6/22/18 Kiss Gel Nails

Wow I have been waiting for new shades of this Nail polish formula to be sent to the Dollar Tree so I could pick them up.

Here are the shades I picked up from the Kiss Gel Strong line that was available at my Dollar Tree. There were several other shades but these were the ones I was most excited about.

From Left to Right: Pacific Dawn, Mint Sky, Tan, Summer Rain, Sky Violet, and Coral.

I was first introduced to this formula by picking up these two shades:

On the left is Plus One and the green one is named Dress-Y

The formula is smooth and went on well plus it didn't have a long dry down time. These polishes work well with the Salon Perfect Pluming Gel Gel Effect Top Coat that is a non UV/LED curing top coat. Plus this top coat can be found at Walmart for $3.98!!

For $1 these polishes are a great find. Let me know which shades you want to or have already picked up.

Project Pan 2018 - Eyeshadow Palette Number One

I am doing a Project Pan of 18 products for 2018. My goal is to either use up some of these products completely or to just hit pan.

In my collection I only have three eyeshadow palettes (I just bought another one online during the Bh Cosmetics sale -so I will have four soon). I want to make sure I am using the makeup I have in a reasonable amount of time and not letting what I currently have expire.

This palette is fairly new to me as I just bought it this year. I am not worried about this product expiring but I would like to hit pan in a few more shades as well as use up some entirely.

The Makeup Revolution SophX Ultra 24 Eyeshadow Palette is GORGEOUS. The first time I saw it in her youtube video I was like YES I can see so many looks and possibilities and for once I am inspired. These eyeshadows are crazy pigmented and are a dream to blend. You also get a nice mix of neutrals and color.

Unfortunately my palette broke off at the hinges when I took it on a trip to Chicago but all the eyeshadows are still in place.

You can see my pan progress already and some dips in several other shades.

My goal by the end of December is to accomplish the following:

  • Use up Pancakes
  • Use up Cuppa Tea
  • Use up Tiramisu
  • Hit pan in Iced Coffee
  • Hit pan in Pug
  • Hit pan in Pumpkin
  • Hit pan in Mug Cake or Rosewood
  • Hit pan in either Grow Old, Sparks Fly, or Smokey Bronze
I am counting this product as just one project even though I have several goals I want to accomplish.

Project Pan 11/18 Projects Shown

I am doing a Project Pan of 18 products for 2018. My goal is to either use up some of these products completely or to just hit pan.

Here are 11/18 products/projects I will be working on, why they are in this Project Pan, and my overall thoughts:

  1. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - Shade 25 Medium
    • Top 5 favorite drugstore concealers! This product blended really easily, wasn't too dry and overall had a nice color match in what I need for a concealer. This one is all used up from May 2018 so it's getting tossed.
  2. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - Shade 25 Medium
    • Again this is a Top 5 favorite drugstore concealer. This one is almost used up. I will repurchase in the future after using up other concealers. I'd like to use this one up by December 31st.
  3. Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Concealer with Actyl C - Shade 40 Medium
    • Another one of my favorite drugstore concealers. I would consider this to be in the Top 5. This has a great formula that isn't too drying underneath the eyes and has a good match for a medium skin tone. This is on it's last leg so I'd like to use it up by December 31st.
  4. Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder - Shade 355 Coconut
    • Wow this product is old. It even has hard pan which is making it hard to use up. You can tell by the picture how much I have used up and have hit massive pan. My goal is to use this all up by December 31st. This is by far my favorite drugstore pressed powder but it's time I got a new one.
  5. Maybelline Master Primer Hydrate + Smooth
    • I received this product free for testing early on this year. This is currently my favorite drugstore primer. My skin has had a horrible year from the end of 2017 till now with just awful peeling dryness. I found that this product has really helped even out the dry areas of my face and really allowed for more moisture to sink into my skin. After using this product my foundations do go on more evenly and don't tend to stick to dry patches. I would like to use this product up (I am super close) by Dec. 31st. I would also re-purchase this once complete. I received this product free for testing thanks to Influenster and all my opinions on the products regarding this product are my own.
  6. Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush
    • I've had this mousse-like blush so long the packaging no longer has the shade on it. I do like the texture of this blush in the pan (it's squishy). More imporantly I like to use this during the summer for an effortless makeup look. I would like to see pan on this by Dec. 31st.
  7. Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 hr Eyeshadow - Shade 25 Bad to the Bronze
    • Again a product I've had for probably too long. The formula is creamy and blends like a dream. Once this product sets it does not budge from my eyes, making this the perfect shadow for pool or beach days. I have already hit pan but I would like to use this up completely by Dec. 31st. I would also re-purchase any shade from this range but also this specific one.
  8. Elf Glitter Primer
    • I have a massive air pocket in this product so it is hard to see just how much product I have used up. This is like the OG drugstore glitter primer that is the cheapest option. It has seen many glitter applications and even sequins and jewels. I think this is a good option if you are just starting to mess with glitter (cosmetic grade) or pigments. I would like to use up half of the remaining tube by Dec. 31st. I would re-purchase this but I do want to try other glitter primers first.
  9. Hard Candy Eyeshadow Primer Eyes the Limit
    • Not bad for the price. It does keep my eyeshadow in place for 6-8 hrs but after that there is some creasing and wear down of the shadow on my lid. I would like to use up half by Dec. 31st. I would say pass on re-purchasing as I've tried other products that have held my shadows on a lot longer.
  10. Benefit Benetint (mini)
    • Really close to using this product up and I'm excited. I did like this product for quite some time on both my cheeks and lips. I would consider buying the full product but only when more of my blushes/lip products are used up. I would like to use this up completely by Dec. 31st.
  11. Benefit Girl Meets Pearl
    • I actually think this is one of Benefit's more flattering highlighters for medium skin tones. I would consider buying the full size version but after I use up several highlighters since they take me awhile to use up. I would like to use this up completely by Dec. 31st.

I'll keep posting more products and more updates as I move along in this Project Pan.

What products are you trying to use up in your collection?

Hogwarts Mystery -Year Two - Potions Q&A's Fire Protection Potion

It's all about the end game (well to me at least)

Here are some questions I've had to answer that you might come across (everyone's question may be different). For me these questions popped up while earning stars to attempt to learn "Fire Protection Potion" which by the way takes 9 stars before you can even start the lesson. Talk about a total energy drain!

Q: Which ingredient is NOT used in shrinking solution
A: ROTTEN EGG

Q: Which of these ingredients IS an ingredient in Polyjuice Potion
A: POWDERED BICORN HORN

Hope this helps! These both gave me +10 to my Knowledge stat

Hogwarts Mystery - Year 2 - Duel Bill Weasley

Currently addicted to Hogwarts Mystery! I downloaded it last week and have played it every single day since.

I will be posting tips and tricks to get you through your years at Hogwarts. Some of these posts will have spoilers.

When it comes to dueling I really don't like to prolong the match. I like to try and anticipate the actions of my opponent and end it as soon as possible so the possibility of me winning does not decrease.

Here is a screenplay of my duel with Bill during my second year. This is the very first duel with Bill. I included the dialogue on what happened after the duel ended pause the video if you don't want to spoil anything.

I am not sure if there are multiple paths the computer chooses when you play so I am unsure if you will get the same exact results I have. Let me know if it went exactly the same.

But as you can see here is what happened:

1) I chose sneaky that beat his defensive stance
2) I chose defensive that beat his aggressive stance
3) I chose sneaky that beat his defensive stance

Are you all enjoying the game?

Hogwarts Mystery Transfiguration -Year Two - Q&A's

Honestly super stoked to get to take Transfiguration with Professor Minerva McGonagall (the real OG) my second year at Hogwarts! This class doesn't unlock till your second year so you have to be patient.

Just like in your other studies there will be a time where the professor tests your knowledge on various Hogwarts subjects.

So far these are the first set of questions I have had to deal with.

Q: What spell vanishes an object?
A: EVANESCO

Q: What spell would you use to mend  a pair of glasses?
A: REPARO

Q: What spell turns an object to stone?
A: DURO

:) who else is team Slytherin?

Hogwarts Mystery - House Cup - Year 1 Results

Ayyyyeee your girl did it. Even with Snape decimating me by taking 20 house points away after the duel with Merula. This is the biggest House Point set back you will encounter your first year and it is impossible the get around, meaning no matter what series of events you take you will lose those 20 points.

Alls well that ends well as the story goes! In all realness I didn't think we'd get this far but ayyeee we did it.

The sad part is you aren't playing with real people in your region on the leaderboard so everything is made up with autogenerated names or even names of characters you come into contact in the game. I am currently playing my second year and have yet to figure out if it's possible to lose the House Cup.

:) why is your house the best house?

Marc Jacobs Shameless Foundation

I received a foundation to try out from @Influenster and @MarcBeauty. The product is pictured down below:

Thoughts:

This product smells a little bit like sunscreen but I don't mind as it reminds me of summer. I have really dry skin so I wasn't expecting much from this product but I was pleasantly surprised. Using a hydrating primer and a slightly more damp than usual beauty blender the product went on smoothly without clinging to any dry patches. It lasts about 8+ hrs on my skin using a hydrating primer, no setting powder and a hydrating setting spray. SPF 25 and no flashback 🙌 this will be perfect when lounging around by the pool when it warms up! I'd say this is sheer to medium coverage and I wouldn't recommend trying to build it up as the layer underneath will slip around making the foundation look uneven. Honestly I was scared when I received the shade Y440 thinking I wasn't tan enough but this worked out perfectly and I'm excited to continue trying it out. My go to summer bb creme is one by Maybelline and so far I like both but I like how I don't have to worry about looking greasy or oily with this Shameless foundation.

Received this product complimentary for sampling, but all opinions are my own.

Maybelline FitMe Dewy Foundation

I received two products from Influenster to test out. The Maybelline FitMe Dewy Smooth Foundation and the Master Prime primer that is the Hydrate and Smooth base.  Here is a picture of both products:

Foundation/Primer:
The foundation is super lightweight and has decent amounts of coverage. I would say it starts off medium and it can be built up to have addition coverage without looking caky. I am someone who has very dry skin to the point where I have patches that are sporadically on my face that are very dry in comparison to other spots on my face, and my nose always has had some type of flaky appearance even after using other drugstore or high-end primers. Using both the hydrating primer (pictured) and the foundation I find that my uneven dry patches are non-existent, my whole  face looks flawless and radiant. Looking at my nose throughout the day there really is no more flaky patches or uneven skin coming through. This combo is lightweight that I wear it every single day, but I also feel confident using it when I know there is going to be a lot of picture moments. I have also tested it out by the pool and it doesn't melt off my face while catching a tan!

I did receive this products complimentary for testing but all my thoughts and opinions are my own.

L.A. Colors FYX Color Correctors Shades

Yesterday I posted about my $3.00 color correcting find from Walgreens! I will put some swatches up on this post.

Here is what the shades look like in the packaging it comes in:

Each shade is 0.09 oz but they are all very pigmented! For color correcting each shade neutralizes a problem area on your face. This product does specify which shade corrects what area on your face.

Here are the claims:
Peach - brightens dark spots
Yellow - neutralizes purple tones
Green - reduces redness
White - highlights & brightens
Lilac - neutralizes yellow tones

The only two shades I have not experimented with yet are Lilac and White. This is because I do not have any yellow tones on my face, and for the white when I originally swatched it to me when I blended it...the shade was so glittery.

Here are some swatches of the different shades:

You can see what I mean by the white shade is glittery. I do think that I could possibly make it work as an inner eye highlight.

Each shade is easy to blend with your fingers or I use sponges to apply them to my face. I would recommend going to Walgreens to see if they are still available and only for $3.00!

L.A. Colors FYX Color Correctors

After Christmas means after Christmas beauty steals from basically any store! My favorites are checking the deals from Target and Walgreens just because over the years that is where I have experienced the best markdowns.

This year I stopped by Target first and wow did they do markdowns so quickly I missed out on snagging anything that caught my eye. I went to Walgreens next and found several things that interested me but I only picked up two of them. The L.A. Colors Fix Complexion Concerns Color FYX Color Correctors is one of the two items!

Pictured Here:

Normally as marked it retailed for $6.00 but I went when it was 50% OFF resulting in only paying $3.00 for the whole set! That's a steal in my book because you get get 5 colors and while they are only 0.09 oz they are all highly pigmented.

Honestly I have never color corrected or used products to color correct before so this was a pretty exciting new purchase for me. Got to say I am now addicted to covering any acne spots (I have been getting more lately because of stress *sigh*) with the green corrector and then layering concealer on top. Luckily my skin tone almost exactly matches with the peach corrector mixed with the yellow so I almost don't need to put concealer on top of color correcting my under-eyes.

To color correct my under-eyes I start with the peach shade and draw a shaded triangle just like I would concealer  I blend this peach color out to where it covers my dark circles, but add a few dots of yellow on top of the peach to lighten/brighten up the area I just color corrected with the peach. If the color of the peach with the yellow looks close enough to my skin tone I don't add concealer I just go straight into powder foundation. If the color of the peach with the yellow does not look close enough to my skin tone I add concealer before going in with powder foundation. If I need a full coverage look I would use liquid foundation but there really has not be an occasion for full coverage with the start of the year.

Here's the back of the packaging:

The back of the packaging is nice because it shows you where you can use the color correctors and where to place it on the face. It also tells you what color neutralizes what, so for example green reduces redness, blemishes, and blotchy skin. This takes a lot of the guess work out if you have not color corrected before.

Ultimately I would recommend picking it up in store for $3.00 to experiment with and see if you like color correcting before moving onto higher $$ products. I would also stick with this product as opposed to buying other color correcting brands because I think it does the job just fine without costing a lot of money
